Day 10: The Finale

The finishing day started with a lie in as just 30 miles to complete the tour. Alarms are set at 7am and breakfast was eaten in a stunning setting overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Knowing the day was set to be a leisurely jaunt the spirits were high, and reflection of the tour was being discussed.

Some of the facts to consider were;

  • Gary ate 42 Bananas
  • 49,575 ft climbed
  • 150 cappuccinos
  • Approx. 100 litres of water
  • 1,443,582 metres cycled (897 miles)
  • 222,703 rotations of the legs
  • 654,756 wheels turned
  • Not sure how many beers
  • 12kg of pasta consumed
  • 30 pizzas devoured
  • No crashes!

The ride was stunning, challenging hills along the coastal route from San Remo through to Menton and finally over the last hill to Monaco. We even found a cycle tunnel which was over 3km long!

An Air B&B villa awaits and 3 tickets to the Boat show gives the three of us a well-deserved end of tour finale!!
